Virgin Bali Experience

Bali had surprised me.

Before my virgin Bali trip, I seriously thought that Bali is just like Bintan and Batam, equally run-down and dirty. Well, when I reach Bali around 9pm, I was really really blown away by their nice restaurants along the way to my resort.

Bali is still relatively run-down, but it's a lot better in terms of dining options and I seriously didn't expect to see nice restaurants. But I must say, their lighting skills for the restaurants are expectionally good. A lot of the restaurants look super good at night, only at night. I can't seem to locate all the nice-looking restaurants in the daytime. Hahaha.

Below are some pictures of our resort. It is seriously not fantastic and in fact, it is kind of small for a 2 bedroom apartment.

My apartment really looks kinda boring isn't it? :(

Views near my room. Mine is supposedly 2 bedroom pool view apartment and from the picture, my room is t the top right hand corner. That's their 'poolview'. *roll eyes*

Our companions on the first night :)

Look how red my hubby is. Hahahha! (Though he's red, but he can drink! or rather, he's not as lousy as what we've thought! That's how he escape being drunk on our wedding night!)

Our brekkies. It comes in a set so you just need to chose whether you want English, American or Indonesian breakfast. Apparently, we are all on our American mode. Haha.
Our tibits for the trip. (We actually have more but we finished it before deciding to take pics).
One tip for buying tibits in Bali - Never ever buy from their "7-11". It's freaking expensive! A packet of Oreo (above) costs SGD$8! and their cheese chips cost SGD$12 per pack! That's madness. Always buy from their family mart, though it looks a little run-down (C'mon, you can't expect nice family mart in Bali). The price is on par with Singapore.

Kudeta is one of the 'must-visit' restaurant bar in Bali and it's indeed really nice!

It's a 100 times nicer than the one in Singapore! The one in Singapore serves lousy "zi-char" food! I nearly fainted when the food was being served and the portion for appetizers are the same as their main course!

Back to the one in Bali, the ambience is really nice and when we reached, the sun is setting and the view is amazing. It's a pity that I can't capture that with my iPhone camera.

Beautiful, isn't it? :) Imagine it 10 times nicer ^^

My seafood platter
Hubby's steak
Melly's cod fish. It look kinda gross though. Haha

The food at Kudeta is average but the ambience really won us over :)

We were walking around the island and Hubby saw the sign below.

Super hilarious, isn't it??

And the funniest thing is that, my hubby had a craving for BBQ chicken after he saw this poster! He's such a cruel carnivore!

On our last night, we went to Potato head. This place was recommended by my Indonesian clients and it's really good!

The ambience is really good as well and it's by the sea. They had a long pool just by the sea and you can actually see the waves splashing against the pool from the seating area.

The best part about this place is, you will feel that you are being covered by a blanket of beautiful twinkling stars. The entire skyline viewed from our seats are lined with bright twinkling stars. It's so beautiful and therapeutic.

Everything's really great at Potato Head except for the service provided by the host. It's so horrible that I wrote a long feedback letter. Other than that, the rest is ok :)

Lastly, a last shot in Bali. I will be back if I want a relaxing and sleeping trip :)

Greetings from Basel

Hello Everyone!

How time flies.

I am already completing my crazy Basel trip and here I am, blogging at the booth.

It's been a crazily hectic trip and I am totally glad it's over :)

Seriously hope that I'll have slightly more time when I am back as I have not prepare for any single thing for my wedding and it's only 2 months away.

Guess I am still more suitable to be a Singapore girl as I really can't stand the cold very well. Being in a cold cold country alone is no fun at all and I miss home!

I miss my dearest BB, my sweet Mdm Boo and my darling Oscar boy :(

1 more day and I'll be home!

Will try to have more updates soon!
