Cycling Day at East Coast Park

I can't remember when is the last time I went to East Coast Park and especially there to cycle. If I didn't remember wrongly, it should be 13 YEARS ago. Yes, I know it sounds crazy but who the hell will go to East Coast Park and cycle when I can't freaking hold my balance on a bicycle???

And when I last cycled 13 years ago, it was with my volleyball mates and she's so sweet to pillion me though she's like half my size. Hahhahaha! And I always remember my first ride on the bicycle! It felt sooooo good with the wind blowing against my face and while I was happily enjoying the ride, my friend just said," Meiyan, can you please help to pedal a little????" Hahahahha! Well, I did try to pedal la..but then again at times she's going very fast and my foot just slip off the pedal. Poor her..think after that session, she never once mentioned about going cycling with me ever again. Hahhahaha..

Well, so after 13 freaking long years, I finally found someone who has the courage to pillion me knowing that I might just lift my foot off the pedal and enjoy the ride. Hahhahah..Well..who else can the victim be other than my sweet BB?? Hhahahaha!

So our morning started off with breakfast with Mdm Boo, Mr Lai and Baby Kristen at MacDonalds with all of us having a normal breakfast each except for Mr Lai. He actually gobbled now 2 meals and attempting to steal baby or Mdm Boo's breakfast!! Hahhaha.. well, he defended himself by saying that he didn't ate dinner the night before.. Hmmmm *roll eyes*. Well, that's our dear Mr Lai.

So after breakfast, we happily rented our 'lover's bicycle' (my own interpretation cause I duno the name..Hahhaha) and off we went to start our little journey of the day =) Well, after being really excited about cycling (I haven't sat on a bicycle for donkey years), I was realllllllllly looking forward to it.

I believed I KNOW enough friends who cycled but why the hell that nobody ever told me that it's sooooooo freaking painful to sit on a bicycle?!?!?!?!? Or maybe it's just me because I reallllllly don't have much meat on my butt but I didn't expect it to hurt THAT much lor!!!! That freaking seat is so freaking small and how on earth can anyone ever cycle on that thing for long with butt ache?!!?! It hurts so much that I am so afraid I can't sit properly after I am done with cycling. Kaoz. My dear BB simply refused to stop the bike till we reached Bedok jetty cause he says its very 'dui lian' to go east coast park and cycle for 10mins. 10mins with your butt aching every single second feels like 10 long donkey hours can... For your information, I am exactly in the middle of East Coast Park when the journey starts and Bedok jetty is right on one end. It's freaking far and we took slighly more than half an hour to and fro lor..My butt nearly cracked lor..or so I thought -_-"

Finally we went back to where Mdm Boo, Mr Lai and baby is supposedly to be building a sandcastle. So shiok to be standing on my feet all of a sudden. Kaoz..

Taken using sketch mode

Here is baby enjoying herself with all the messy sand and her stylo-milo sunglasses. She is a super clean freak lazy baby who die die must sit on a plastic bag cause she is afraid that her shorts will get dirty though she's already super dirty lor -_-"

I was happily relaxing on the beach chair and who knows..my BB doesn't realise he is VERY heavy lor..just simply walked over and sit on my legs!! I was nearly squashed to death. He is staring at me as I wrote this but, hahahahah! I am not going to remove it!! Bleahz ;p

After we came back, baby suddenly decided that she wanted to go cycling too! So off she went and they did went for quite a while. Initially I still thought that baby is quite good as she can cycle for quite a while...but who knows.....

She can't cycled for Christ's sake! Both Mdm Boo and Mr Lai got to 'roll' the bicycle in order for it to move! Hahhaha..She's just good at ringing the bell non-stop and posing for pictures and look as though she is damm good at cycling.

Look! There she is posing. She really does look like she can cycle right? Hahhaha..Pardon her top for falling off and Mdm Boo being super creative, did this.

She actually use her towel to tie her two straps together! Who would have thought of that man...Lucky she's just a baby girl who doesnt know much about image. Hahhaha..

Well, it is certainly a great way to spend a Sunday morning but I doubt I will go for cycling again anytime soon - unless I bring along my own cushion seat cover and tie it onto the freaking small bicycle seat. Hahhaha..

Applebees!

BB is so excited when I mentioned to him casually that I wanna try out the new restaurant, Applebees, because Applebees orignates from the states and he simply MISSES America. He told me that when he's in US, Applebees is one of the many outlets that he frequents and he loves it! So last Saturday, we went to Applebees!

I love their logo (maybe because there's an apple on it and I love apples!)! It is apparent that the owners are American as I saw quite a number of Americans helping out in the shop and this is not exactly common if it is a franchise (You don't see angmohs serving you all the time man..only filipinos and PRCs other than the pathetic local crew). The restaurant is seperated into 2 parts - 1st part will be solely for dining and 2nd part will be where they serve food and alcoholic drinks topped up with tons of TV showing soccer..... (-_-)"

It is relatively a cool concept (certainly so for soccer fans..like my BB who couldn't take his eyes off the screen till I stared at him...arghhhhh. and I caught him peeking at the screen again when I am talking halfway!!!!) No matter where you are seated, you will definitely be facing a TV...

As for the food, I would say that the portions are fairly large (at least for me). We ordered 2 starters and 2 main courses and initially still planning to order its desserts but after eating halfway through..I surrender. I am so so so so fulllllll.....

Dynamite Shrimps

This is one of the starters and the shrimps are coated with flour and deep fried till the outer layer is crispy. It seriously taste not bad but somehow or rather, it reminds me of our 煮炒 and totally goes well with a bowl of rice! Hahahah..okie..I am a sucker for rice and I can't live without rice for long and I admit it!

Buffalo Wings

BB ordered this because he missed the taste in US but much to his disappointment, it doesn't taste anything like what he remembered. The wings are a little too sweet for my liking too (please remember that I have a sweet tooth and when I feel that it's sweet for a supposedly salty dish, you better trust my taste bug).

Bourbon street ribeye

BB's reallly excited about this dish because he ALWAYS have this during his time in US and he simply loves it! But well, this is Singapore and you can't expect to find the exact same taste and this totally taste nothing like what he remembered as well (I tried this too and basically, the steak is tasteless).

Bacon Cheese Chicken Grill

Lastly, my main course. The bacon is very salty (or to me at the very least) and basically, I just ate the chicken grill which taste normal.

Maybe it's just me who is not used to the strong flavouring as BB says that typical American food have relatively strong flavours. But overall, other than the wings being too sweet and my bacon being too salty, the overall atmosphere is quite a nice place to have a bite, hangout with friends and grab a drink :)

Money and Happiness

Many a times, I will often ponder, what am I going to do after I retire? Especially when I am very comfortable with my life when I do. For me, I would want to travel the world with my hubby when I am still able to do so and my kids will have to fend for themselves as I AM going to spend the excessive money that I had worked hard for my entire life (maybe, I will just leave behind a small portion for them after I die)! I am going to buy all the things that I really like and be a hip granny!

This is definitely the most ideal scenrio. But, what I sees around me are totally not the case.

My company had this very well-connected advisor who had just retired last year from a big public-listed company and is still currently sitting on the board of directors of serveral big companies. After retirement, he will come to my office almost everyday and when I asked him, he will always says," I can't stop working. I will be very bored at home.." Then I said, "Why don't you take a break and go travelling with your wife?" He simply replied," I had faced her for so many years and she can just travel on her own." Oh well...So he started to call on all his 'friends' of all other companies to catch up on the good old times. Well, this is definitely good if other people treat you exactly the same way you expect them to.

That's when the reality kicks in. When you are high up there, whatever you do or say weighs a thousand pounds but after you retire, you are just another feeble old man with good connections but basically because you are old, a lot of things you will not have the energy to accomplish. I am not saying all retirees are like that but that is the impression some of these people will have. I began to witness how some of his old time friends 'entertain' him when he goes to their offices and this is seriously depressing.

Now, he wanted to start off another business with a few partners taking his friend's business model as reference. He began to have meetings regularly at the office and slowly the meetings get lesser but he will still come in everyday. He will sits in his office everyday to watch youtube on the net and at times dozing off on his chair..

I can't understand why he doesn't want to do all these at the comfort of his very big home.. It is seriously kind of sad to see this..Does he really dislike staying at home so much or does he dislike seeing his family? People of his age should stay at home and 享受天伦之乐..

One may have all the money in the world but when he/she does not have a happy family(or enjoy being in the comfort of their own home with everyone around), he seriously has nothing much(but of course I won't deny the fact that money IS important to everyone, but having sufficient and able to be comfortable in life with a blissful family is even better! At least I speak for myself.) Even though he can buy a zillion things with all the money he had, he still wont be truly happy because happiness is truly a state of mind and needs to be constantly spice up with warm gestures and genuine concerns from people who matters.

Camera Woes

As many of you may know, I had lost my Sony T70's charger donkey years ago and since then, I had been feeling a little lost due to the fact that I am lacking a camera (an actual camera and not a phone camera!). A good, nice and pretty camera that I can bring along for trips, outings and gatherings. Well, many might think that, "why not just buy a charger?" But the point is, that freaking charger is going to cost me more than S$120 if I didn't remember wrongly!

With my niao niao personality, spending S$120 on A CHARGER is not possible. I rather get a new one! Heeee..please don't say that I am a 喜新厌旧 person cause I rather spend much more to get a new camera than a charger cause the main point is, the camera that I'll be getting will be NEW whereby if I were to get a new charger for an old camera, that will be silly.

Being endlessly fickle-minded on my choices and with so many new cameras on the market right now, I managed to size down to 2 options. That is either Canon S90 or Samsung ST550.

Colors aside (cause the colors are either ugly or only comes in black. I will bling it up once I get my hands on one. Cant stand such ugly colors for today's modern camera), Canon seems to produce better pictures but Samsung has this 自拍 function which I really like!

Being a newly launched product, S90 is currently selling for a whopping $749 and ST550 is going for $549. I am still not able to decide which is a better one for me..any suggestions??

The Start of my Perrrrrfect Wedding!! (^_^)

What's a Perfect Wedding without a Perrrrrrrfect venue?? A perfect venue is one that makes you feel blissful, happy, brings a smile to your face whenever you think about it and Absolutely proud to announce it to the world! Having THE perfect wedding is every girl's dream and it is certainly MY dream to hold a PERFECT WEDDING (in my very own perception). Well, I guess I am certainly very very blessed because..............

WooooHooooooo!!!! I Found my Dream Wedding Venue!! After viewing at least a dozen hotels and running through a dozen packages, I finally set my eyes on Four Seasons Hotel :) Strangely, I dropped this hotel initially as I was not there personally to view the suite and the ballroom and after going through all the possible hotels, I decided that it's only fair that I make a trip down personally before I decided on its fate. This is the best decision I ever made :)

When I walked into the lobby, I felt excited yet with a weird sense of peace. I was really comfortable (maybe the fact that it is not a very big hotel, everything felt cozy). After meeting up with the sales director, we walked up the swirl stairway that leads to the ballroom.

Seriously when I saw the ballroom, I didn't went.."WAH..............OMG!!!!!" (Maybe it was empty with no extravagant decorations) but I was comfortable and pleased with the whole setup and love their flexibilty of allowing me to use my creativity to create my very own wedding theme using their available resources :)

It was when I walked into the suite, I decided that I AM going to be a Four Seasons's bride!! I had seen numerous suites in the past months and I really like this whole setup! It felt realllllllllllly cozy with a luxurious touch and they are so considerate to have a powder room for friends and family when I can have my own dressing table in the bedroom! Their bathroom is really nice as well and I just love love love the place!!^^

Now, I have the perfect hubby, the perfect wedding venue and what's next? Stay tune! I am a blissful girl!! :D

Be Considerate!!!

What happened this morning on the train further reminds me of why I hated to take trains in the past! Now I had no choice but to take it as where I am staying, taking train is certainly faster than taking cab when it comes to getting to my office! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

There was this super disgusting cum smelly cum inconsiderate ang moh sitting besides me and he stinks! As I do not want to be rude initially, I just turn my face to the other side and try to have fresher air and cover my nose once in a while. BUT, this stinky ang moh is totally unaware of how stinky he is and starts yawning! Well, you may ask, 'what's wrong with yawning?' There's absolutely nothing wrong with that WHEN you are doing it politely aka covering your stinky mouth with your hands when you are doing it!
He is obviously oblivious towards his own stinky stench that he keeps yawning and facing me for that manner or maybe he is doing it on purpose, it certainly pisses me off! I had to tell him to COVER his mouth with his hands when he yawns! He can actually asks me why?!?!?! His gf/wife seems embrassed and is considerate enough to nudge him to just cover his mouth when he does that. I seriously pity the woman having to bear with this stinky man just because she LOVES him *roll eyes* If she really does love him, she should probably force him to practise some personal hygiene before he gets out of the house!

Being clean and smelling good are not only being considerate to others (bear in mind that no one wants to be near a rubbish dump), it also makes your ownself feels better! Especially when you are taking public transport day in and day out, don't make people faint due to your own stinkness! It's a sin!! Especially when you are taking train and everyone sit/stand so damm close to each other! Taking buses may be a little better as if you are lucky, you may get a good seat and turn your face to face the windows during your journey.

Taking public transport is already a chore and please be considerate to everyone to make it a slightly more pleasant experience!

Afternoon Tea Gathering :D

It was a fun-filled afternoon tea gathering with Mdm Boo, Kristen baby, Sharon, Jayden and Cindy at Pan Pac.

It was Jayden's first afternoon tea session and I can totally sense his inheritence of Mummy's sweet tooth as he happily gobbled down 2 pieces of cake!

It was also the first meetup session between Jayden and Kristen and apparently they hit it off very well! So well that Sharon and I had to run around with them! (-_-)" They are happily playing "catching" with one another at the hotel, running and running and taking the lift up and down..Seriously think I am getting on in age as I was so tired after following them for a while and yet they look far from tired!

We are sooooooooo glad that Mr Lai and ah Tan arrive later in the evening as the kids love them!! Finally me and sharon were able to take a break, enjoy our tea and have some small bites =)

It was a great afternoon tea session and we must make sure that the man goes to the tea session with us so they can take care of the babies!!! Hahahhaha!!
